Butter or Cream Cheese, which one to put on your bagel?

 

No doubt, butter has more calories than cream cheese. One teaspoon of butter has 102 calories according to the USDA National Nutrient.

 

In each gram of butter, you gain 9 calories of fat, very low amount of protein and carbs and no fibers. However, you gain Vitamin A, E, and K, lecithin & selenium.

 

On the other hand, 1 teaspoon of regular cream cheese has 50 calories. It weights 14.4 grams contains 5 grams of fats. This source of fats brings up the total fats to 45 calories from the total 50 calories. The meaning for you is that you eat more fat than you want especially if you try to lose weight.

 

You want to consume either one of these foods in moderation.

 

Take under consideration what is your goal if you want to lose weight, consume either one option in very small amount. And remember, pack your bagel with plenty of vegetables to increase fibers, minerals and vitamins.
